Custom Postage

Friday, November 6th, 2009

I am always looking for ways to make celebrations more beautiful, more fun and easier. So I often help my customers choose the perfect postage for their invitations and stationery. More and more I am just so disappointed with what the post office has to choose from. So I have started to design custom postage to coordinate with your custom invitations and things.

I wasn’t sure at first if I was going to like this. But I LOVE it! I think that it’s just one more way to make your envelope more beautiful. And if the envelope looks this good, your friends and family will get the message even before they open it up, that this is something FUN. Alright, often it’s elegant fun, but it’s always fun too.

You won’t see this option on the site just yet, but send an email, call, or make the request online when you order and custom postage will be designed just for you.

The design above is for an engagement party invitation that is still in production. But I’ll get some photos of the finished design up here next week. I am so loving this design. The bride to be is absolutely sweet and thoughtful and I’m really looking forward to presenting her with her beautiful invitations.

Announcing Our New Toll Free Number

Thursday, November 5th, 2009

Staying connected and making connections is what life is really all about. So I’m really happy to say that I think I’m making this even easier for us to do just that. I have added a toll free phone number and it’s also the fax number. Simply clear and easy. Perfect. Well, still working towards that one. But getting closer all the time.

Evy Jacob News: National Stationery Show

Monday, May 18th, 2009

This was one of my very first designs…

I debuted it at the National Stationery Show a couple of years back. Sunday was the first day of this year’s show and I am exhausted and happy. It is so great to see which of my designs will be the most popular and to get to meet so many of the Evy Jacob dealers, new and old friends. Thank you to all of you for your support and excitement. I so love working with you and I feel so honored to be a part of your continued success!

Evy Jacob: Celebrate Everything!

Friday, May 15th, 2009

Even the everyday is more fun when you find something to celebrate…

Even if you have nothing special planned for the weekend here are some things you can do to celebrate…

*buy some fresh flowers and stick them in a jar, a vase, a pitcher

*put out some candles that smell good - put a few of them on a pretty dish and it will look great

*sit down with a mug of your favorite tea and call a good friend

*catch up with old friends on facebook - surprisingly fun!

*send a handwritten note or card to someone - they will love getting some fun mail

*let the dog take you for a walk for a change

*make a nice big beautiful salad with lots of pretty vegetables and maybe some fruit too - then instead of dressing just put on some oil and vinegar - delicious!

*enjoy!

Evy Jacob Celebrations: Graduations and Purple Invitations

Thursday, May 14th, 2009

I like to think of my designs as inspirations and love to personalize and customize each one so that it’s perfect and unique just for you. I get so excited when a variation turns out super cute. And this one did!

The requested changes were to use a true purple ink instead of the green in the the inspiration design. The name was put into a beautiful script font and the invitation was printed at a smaller size. I just love how this turned out!

Evy Jacob: Celebrating!

Wednesday, May 13th, 2009

A couple of years ago I sat down and really thought about who I am, what I believe makes me - me. And this is what I came up with…

I think it’s all still so true. I think life should be fun as often as possible. That nothing really has to be absolutely perfect, as long as it’s done with love and style! That we’ll enjoy everything more if we just relax and laugh and love and be ourselves.

So cook that recipe, plan that party, go for lunch with a friend and just enjoy it all - the planning, the process, the moment.

Evy Jacob Mini Celebrations: Journals

Monday, May 11th, 2009

I don’t keep a journal the way lots of people do. But I do always have a bunch of journals and datebooks and planners piled up nearby.

I always have a little sketchbook or journal nearby with a couple of pens or markers in different colors just for fun. A glue stick is good too for saving bits of paper and fabric right on the pages. One is always in my bag, several are piled on my kitchen counter by the phone, and I always travel with at least one too to make travel journals on the fly. I sort of use different ones for different things - one for stuff that inspires me, one for my work lists, one for all the things I love or want to do or want to remember. But there is always lots of crossover too, this is all far from very organized and I love it that way!

I love looking through them when I’m looking for inspiration. I’m always happily surprised to see all that good stuff.

Here’s what I do with them:
*make lists of things to do
*make lists of dreams and goals
*write down good ideas
*doodle and scribble and draw
*experiment with colors and patterns just for fun
*collect business cards that I love or of places I want to remember
*save the cards I get from my family for Mother’s Day and my birthday. I love those cards!
*receipts from meals I’ve loved
*menus from special meals I’ve planned
*little things I’ve torn out of magazines and newspapers that inspire me in some way

Do you do this too?

Evy Jacob Celebrations: Wishing You a Happy Mother’s Day!

Friday, May 8th, 2009

I do so love a celebration, and I know you do too. And, if you’re like me, you need some good ideas to pull out of your hat on a moment’s notice. Here are some fun and easy last minute things you can do to celebrate…

*Bake some cupcakes and decorate them with sprinkles and colored sugar. Make them from a mix or make them from scratch. Who cares! Just make them with love and they’ll be perfect!

*Print out a great photo of you or your kids or everyone! Put it into a frame your mom will love, wrap it up with some paper and a pretty ribbon and believe me she will love this gift. If you have little ones, get a plain wooden frame and let them glue on some shells or marbles or whatever you have in the house. The kids will have so much fun with this craft project and your mom will adore this.

*If you have a little bit more time, gather a bunch of photos and put them into a photo album for your mom. Even a small one is perfect. Mom’s love brag books! If you’re feeling creative, start with a plain photo album, grab a glue gun and some pretty ribbons and things. Decorate the cover any way like and make your mom a beautiful one of a kind album. Beautiful!

*Flowers. Always, flowers.

*Spend some time with your mom, just your mom and her kids, and enjoy a cup of tea or a walk and enjoy!

Wishing all moms are very happy mother’s day!

Evy Jacob Celebrations: Mother’s Day with Love

Thursday, May 7th, 2009

The best mother’s days are the simplest in my book. But the simple celebrations are rare, at least for me!

Saturday night we’ll be taking his mom to Del Posto. We’re planning a splurge kind of evening. I’m sure there will be cocktails and wine and lots of fabulous food. The ingredients for a great evening according to my mother-in-law. And I can’t disagree with that!

My mom loves those decadent Sunday brunches with mimosas and roses and her daughters. Even if this year she decides to do something a little different, it’s still going to be another splurge kind of meal. I am going to run every single day in preparation for all this splurging!

And I like to just be at home with my babies (they will always be my babies!) and enjoy some really good family time. For us that’s sitting around the table enjoying a meal and laughing. A lot.

So what are you doing to celebrate Mother’s Day?
