A Birthday Party
I’m invited to a girl’s only birthday party. I really love this idea. The birthday girl herself invited a small group of us over to her house in the evening from 8 to 10. So sweet. She’s not making too big of a deal of her big birthday, but she’s definitely celebrating!
My husband’s Grandma Ellen always did exactly the same thing. She’d bake herself one of her fabulous cakes and invite friends over to celebrate. So much better than just ignoring your special day or hoping that others take care of the planning for you. Birthday parties are fun and shouldn’t be only for children!
My friend has requested no gifts, but since it’s the first time I’m going to her home, and it is her birthday, I’d like to bring a little something. I decided that some handmade chocolates from the chocolate shop in my town are the perfect little something. Hope she loves the little indulgence.
PS. I didn’t bake that gorgeous chocolate cake. My friend Linda did. And it was as delicious as it looks!
